Unwoven Light

Soo Sunny Park is a Korean artist who likes to experiment with light, color, reflection and refraction. Her current piece, Unwoven Light was on display at the Art Gallery on the Rice University campus; an assembly of  thousands of iridescent acrylic Plexiglas squares into chain link cells capturing the outside light and transforming it into a wandering, shimmering statement.

Luckily, thanks to Aunt in Austin, I found out about this just before the exhibit was due to leave. I’m not sure where Unwoven Light goes after Rice but I would keep a lookout for anything Soo exhibits, her work is simply fascinating.
