But I digress.
In preparation for Dublin trip I rented this film blind. I had never heard of Glen Hansard, who is the vocal anchor for what is loosely a concert with the obligatory latticework of a story and an occasional peep at downtown Dublin . The concert is more than enough to win any fan of neo folk over in the first 5 minutes. After the movie you will probably discover that the Dublin-born, Oscar-totin’ Hansard, through his two bands – The Frames and The Swell Season – is actually quite influential in the Dublin music scene. You might even go so far as to download the The Frames most recent, The Cost.
86 minutes well spent.
